Lisa Fabiano was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania, relocating to the foothills of Colorado at the age of 23. She worked in high-tech, as a chef in vegetarian and fine dining restaurants, and studied Philosophy at U.C.C.S. In 1996, she began painting and drawing.
Fabiano’s artwork is abstract and expressive, with emphases on color, texture, and process. She primarily works with oil paint applied in a direct and generous manner, creating vibrant impasto surfaces.
She also works on paper with oil pastel, paint, and various drawing media. Fabiano has said her work, although contemporary, is related to abstract impressionism, expressionism, and lyrical abstraction.
Her work can be found in Colorado Springs galleries, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Museum Shop, and in private collections.
